Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Attacks RSS For Lack Of Female Representation, Claims They Suppress Women

Despite being nearly half of the population, women’s representation in India is severely lacking in the political sphere. In fact, India ranks 20th from the bottom in women’s representation in Parliament. And the lack of conversation about it isn’t helping the case either. But recently, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called out Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for the lack of female representation.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is currently leading the political party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, slammed RSS and said that the organisation does not have any female members as they suppress women. Further, the Congress leader claimed that BJP and RSS plan to spread fear whereas his March is to take a stand against hatred as well as fear.

Rahul Gandhi was addressing a street corner meeting with the locals in Bagdi village in Rajasthan’s Dausa district. During his address, the Congress leader called out RSS and said that there are no women in the organisation as they do not allow women to be a part of it and suppress women. Rahul Gandhi also accused RSS and BJP of “insulting” Goddess Sita as well as the women of India. He questioned the political outfits saying “Jai Shree Ram” instead of “Jai Siyaram”. Rahul Gandhi went on to question why the political organisations remove Goddess Sita’s name and insult her as well as Indian women.
