In a recent turn of events, Cherian Philip, a Congress leader is being severely criticised online after many saw his alleged inappropriate behaviour while greeting the newly elected MLA from Kerala’s Kollam named Bindu Krishna. A video of him welcoming her at the Congress headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram is going viral online and many political leaders cutting across parties pointed out how he continued even after her apparent reluctance.
About Cherian Philip’s Misbehaviour With Bindu Krishna
This criticism against Philip came in after many pointed out he did not maintain decency in public and demanded action against him after he forcibly tried hugging her. A user called him “sick” for misbehaving with the congress leader Smt. Monday Krishna. He was also slammed by a medical professional Sameer who slammed Congress over its ‘anti-women culture.’ He asked Priyanka Gandhi to take some action against this.
After this, BJP spokesperson Ajay Sherawat took a swipe at the Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate and asked whether she would like to comment on this behaviour. As of now, neither Cherian Philip nor Bindu Krishna have given any statement about the same. For the unversed, Krishna recently won from Kollam by 12,830 votes and the Kerala assembly will have 11 women MLAs.
The CPI, an ally of the LDF, will have one female MLA instead of two in the previous legislature, with Geetha Gopi winning from Nattika by 7,093 votes. The CPI(M) will have only one female MLA, OS Ambika, who won from Attingal. There are more female MLAs in the new assembly from the Congress, which won the election.

We strongly believe that this wasn’t a harmless moment and situations like this expose how casually boundaries are violated, even by those in powerful positions. If women leaders aren’t respected in the county, then representation comes down to nothing, so accountability must follow.
