Recently, in an exclusive chat with us, the Main Actor Nahi Hoon star Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and the film’s director, Aditya Kripalani, shared their thoughts on the ongoing discussion. Nawazuddin Siddiqui On 8-Hour Shift Debate
I was curious to understand whether the challenges of long working hours were a gender-based issue or regardless, the artists struggled with the same. In a recent conversation with the Main Actor Nahi Hoon star Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and the director Aditya Kripalani, we discussed this topic. Nawazuddin Siddiqui said, “I believe in this that there should be an 8-hour shift.” He added, “Ye gadha-mazdoori thodi hai ke 12-ghante kaam karwaya jaaye.” (We cannot stretch our working hours for 12 hours, it’s not fair). Nawazuddin Siddiqui reiterated, “There should be an 8-hour shift definitely.”
Director Aditya Kripalani also shared his opinion on the discussion. He acknowleged that Deepika Padukone was probably pregnant when she raised this demand, and it was a fair ask. He added, “In Europe, there are different circumstances for pregnant women, and they even have paternity leave, and these things should be brought here too.” Talking about his film Main Actor Nahi Hoon, Aditya Kripalani said, “We took a break after every four days because I believe the crew and people working on the film should not be stressed out by having long shoot schedules. Also, everyone has a personal life too.”
