Akshay Kumar Reveals Why He Started Martial Arts Class For Women

The horrifying rape case left the nation shocked at the brutality of the crime and united people to demand justice for the deceased victim. Delhi was deemed unsafe for women, then, and parents worried about their daughters and the women in their families every time they stepped out of the house. Parents also wanted their daughters to learn martial arts to protect themselves from sexual predators. Akshay Kumar also started a martial arts class post this bone-chilling incident and recently shared more details about the venture on Kaun Banega Crorepati 14.

Akshay Kumar shared details about his martial class during his appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 14. As per reports, he said the thought of starting a class like that came to mind after the Nirbhaya rape case. He said that he started the classes in 2013. He also informed Amitabh Bachchan and the audience that so far, 90,000 women have been trained in the martial arts class free of cost. It has been 10 years since the class began.
Talking about the impact of martial arts on his life, the Raksha Bandhan actor said that he is what he is today because of the self-discipline and self-defence he learnt with the training art form and not because of acting. He also said that this is the reason why he opened many branches of martial arts classes all over the country. Akshay Kumar was present on KBC 14 as this reality game show is in its finale week.
Recently, the Delhi Commission Of Women called out the government’s inefficiency in making the country safe for women as it has already been 10 years since the Nirbhaya rape case. Swati Maliwal, the DCW chief, wrote a letter to the government informing them about the consistent rise in crimes against women.
