Looking Out For Toxic Dating Trends Is Actually Derailing Your Love Life!
No wonder you're single AF!

Just as Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani song ‘Tum Kya Mile’ puts us all in a romantic mood during this baarish ka mausam, I thought a reality check about why we struggle to find a handsome guy with diamond studs or a stunning girl in chiffon sarees to romance us is necessary. In this fast-paced world of online dating, we’re all quick to point out the red, pink and beige flags among other colours. And we’re also very quick to spot the toxic dating trends like breadcrumbing, caspering, vulturing and whatnot but the one thing we fail to spot is the big fat red flag we struggle with.
IMHO, the idea of looking for red flags and toxic dating trends is so toxic in itself that it derails our love life to the point of no return. The moment we meet someone who seems like a potential partner, we start looking out for everything problematic about this person. Love bombing toh spot kar loge but love nahi kar paaoge, you know why? Because thanks to the long list of toxic dating trends and the different coloured flags, we’re now stuck looking for these toxic habits that this potential partner of ours displays. But we all know that no human being is perfect and yet we spend our precious time focusing on the negative instead of actually getting to know this other person.

We’re bound to find people who are big fat red flags. We’re bound to find people who might display problematic behaviour but what we’re not going to find is a perfect person who is all green flags. Bhai koi toh red flag hoga na? The point is that as humans, we’re bound to err and we all need to stop finding and pinpointing the toxic dating trends and flags and instead figure out what red flags are orange flags for us. Being flawed is what makes us all human and we simply need to understand what flaws we can live with.

We are going to meet people who display a variety of problematic behaviours because we don’t live in a perfect utopian world. We live in a real world and we need to learn to accept people with flaws and red flags. So, ab stop searching for dating trends and red flags and focus on searching for you “the one” instead. They may not be perfect but they will be perfect for you!
