Life always gives you two choices. One choice is where you can choose to live your life with dignity by working hard and the other one is wherein you succumb to your situations, give up on your dignity, and find an easier way around. And no one but you can make that choice. So what do you choose? Well, I would and have definitely chosen the first option. And I’m not the only one that went with option one. An elderly woman in Pune also chose to sell pens for a living as like many others she didn’t want to beg for a living. And those who came across her post have called her will very inspiring. I, for one, agree!
The founder of a sustainable clothing brand called The ReUp Studio, Shikha Rathi, shared a picture on her Instagram of an elderly woman who refused to beg but chose to sustain herself by selling pens. Ratan is a senior citizen and doesn’t wish to take help from others to live her life.

Shikha Rathi in her Instagram post described the elderly woman as a “real-life hero and champion.” In the picture that Shikha shared, Ratan can be seen holding a cardboard box in her hand that is filled with blue pens and a note that says, “I don’t want to beg, please buy Rs. 10 blue colour pens. Thank you and Bless You.”

According to Shikha’s Instagram caption, she came across Ratan when she was out with a friend. It was the elderly woman’s toothless grin and the note on her box that Shikha Rathi found extremely inspiring. In fact, many of those who came across the post was not only inspired but also waiting to meet her in person.
The caption read, “Today I met a real life hero and champion- Ratan! ? I had gone out with a friend when we met Ratan. When we read her note, my friend immediately made a purchase.
