Everything That Has Happened In The 19 YO Uttarakhand Receptionist’s Gruesome Murder Case So Far
Women across the world are protesting and pleading to have their basic right of saying, “no.” A word that many, especially the one sitting atop powerful positions, are not used to and unfortunately never will be. And another murder case from Uttarakhand is a horrific example of it. A 19-year-old named–Ankita Bhandari has been killed by the son of BJP senior minister in Uttarakhand–Pulkit Arya. On Friday, the state police arrested Pulkit and two others as the main culprits behind this murder.
Ankita is DEAD. Main accused is Pulkit Arya son of senior BJP leader Vinod Arya. Media reports she was killed because she refused fto engage in prostitution at the resort owned by Pulkit Arya.

The case came out in open, when the 19-year-old girl, a receptionist at Pulkit Arya’s resort in Laxman Jhula area went missing for over five days. Ankita, who comes from Pauri Garhwal’s Srikot village was hired for the position of the resort’s receptionist. However, she left the job within one month. As suggested by Pauri Garhwal SSP, the allegations against Arya and two others involved in the case, put Ankita’s refusal from entering prostitution, on display. Allegedly Arya, the main accused in the case, forced her into prostitution at his resort. As hinted at by the phone chat between the two, the police found out about Ankita’s constant dissent to Pulkit’s suggestion. Furthermore, the accused also revealed that on the night before the incident that took place on September 18, Ankita left with him, the resort’s manager Saurabh Bhaskar and assistant manager Ankit Gupta at around 8 pm to visit Rishikesh.

Furthermore, the accused admitted to having momos and liquor with her. Later, Pulkit and Ankita got involved in a heated argument, followed by which she threw his phone in the canal, and a furious Pulkit pushed her away into the canal. As per the current investigation, the police have shuffled through every CCTV Footage to find out that four people left the resort, however, only three returned. The accused who reported a missing complaint of the girl initially acted as complainants, but the evidence brought new information under the spotlight. The case and alleged murder of a 19-year-old led the locals to protest against the culprit, with a crowd trying to attack the accused around the police station. Furthermore, CM Dhami also ordered the suspension of the sub-inspector, who misbehaved with the victim’s parents, when they arrived to file a missing complaint.

After hours of investigation Pauri Garhwal’s, SSP Yashwant Singh confirmed that the culprits have admitted to pushing the girl into the Chilla power house canal. Followed by which the police have also registered a case under IPC section 302 (murder) against the three. Advocating for justice, some localities also tried to attack the resort building and urged for its closure. However, according to the latest updates, the state government ordered to demolish the Vanatara resort, owned by the BJP leader’s son, who is the main accused in the case. Besides that, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ordered officials to investigate every resort in the state, running illegally.

Furthermore, CM Dhami has also assured the public and the victim’s family of justice, and said, “strictest punishment would be given for such heinous crimes, whoever be the criminal.” About Pulkit and the two culprits, Police confirmed, the three have been sent into 14-day judicial custody by a court. New updates in the case also reveal a statement by Ankita’s father, who stated that Pulkit also molested her, as suggested by the audio message. The 19-year-old’s body has been recovered from the lake, where she was pushed by the accused. Following the accusations, BJP took quick action for the removal of Vinod and Ankit Arya, the father and brother of the main accused in this case.
