US Woman Receives Nearly 150 Packages From Amazon That She Never Ordered Nor Paid For

I’ve always been a strong advocate for retail therapy. I believe that most problems can be solved by purchasing a cute handbag or some heels. Although now, with e-commerce sites booming the way they are, it’s a wonder anyone gets any work done. I spend hours pouring over sites like Myntra and Propshop 24 just adding things to my cart willy-nilly. I wish I could just buy everything I wanted. But if I did that, I would be broke in three days. Only if these websites sent over free packages but not everyone is as lucky as this woman from the US. She received 150 packages from Amazon that she didn’t order or pay for. I’ve never been more jealous of anyone.
Jillian Cannan, a woman based out of New York received around 150 packages from Amazon without placing an order or paying for them. She initially thought her business partner was sending these to her but she was mistaken. When she realised the error, like any good samaritan, she got in touch with someone at Amazon and they told her to keep the packages and raise a complaint about this. Soon, the frequency at which these packages were coming in was alarming. There were so many at once that her entire porch was covered. That’s when Jillian noticed that the address written on the package was hers but the name was someone else’s.

Once again, Jillian approached Amazon and they were all confused whether this was some sort of scam or just a technical error. After a lot of trouble, Amazon was able to figure where the problem lied. But until they could correct it, these packages just kept being delivered to Jillian’s house. Reportedly, all the packages had the same product- mask brackets. Not know what to do with so many of them, Jillian decided to do a good deed and donate them.
She and her business partner own a DIY and creative studio. The two of them decided that they should use these mask brackets to make mask kits and donate them to a children’s hospital. After a while, Jillian asked Amazon to donate the remaining number of masks that were a part of that order. They apologized to her for the inconvenience and agreed to donate the rest of the masks themselves.
I love Jillian’s idea of donating the mask brackets. There is quite a dearth and giving them to a children’s hospital may help save precious lives. However, as important as maks are, I would prefer that if I ever get free packages it be all different, random, products. Amazon, are you listening?
