UP Farmer Seeks Action Against Lord Indra, Files Complaint Over Less Rainfall. Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai?
The news about farmers facing the problem of drought is very common in India. It is also a big issue that the farmers face, and sometimes they are forced to take extreme steps to deal with it. However, in a recent piece of news, a farmer from UP decided to take this matter to the officials in a very different and rather hilarious way. The lack of rains certainly creates a huge problem for farmers, and therefore a farmer has directly filed complaints against the god of rains Lord Indra.
The news is hilarious of course, but also highlights a raging issue that persists in our country. As per the reports, Sumit Kumar Yadav, who hails from Jhala village, located in the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh wrote a letter to the officials so that the issue was brought to their notice and reportedly blamed Lord Indra for the lack of rains. On Saturday, Sumit filed this complaint on the “Sampurna Samadhan Divas” or a redressal day that takes place in his village. The complaint was further transferred to the senior officials so that the right action was taken against the issue. The reports also give details of the letter, in which Sumit has given a detailed description of his miseries and difficulties faced due to the droughts. The farmer directly blamed the lord of rains, Indra for the situation. He also wrote that the droughts caused many problems for the villagers, cattle, and agriculture. Going by the report, the UP farmer stated that he wanted to bring this problem up so that the senior officials could take notice, and also mentioned in the complaint that the droughts were creating difficulties for the women and children of the district. Sumit clearly addressed the letter to “Indra Devta (Bhagwan Ji)”.
The reports also stated the revenue official NN Verma who received the letter did not even bother to read it and directly forwarded it to the DM’s office. However, Mr. Verma denied the allegations.

The farmer’s way of addressing might be a funny one, however, it still does highlight the serious plight of the farmers which requires a lot of attention from the authorities.
