This Video Starts With A Man Boiling Syringes And You Will Never Guess Where It Leads
The internet is one of the most random places in the world. You could literally go from looking at a chocolate cake recipe to a video about why the earth is flat. And the number of times I have found random stuff like this doesn’t even surprise me but rather intrigues me. So you can imagine that I was super intrigued by this video of a man making lipsticks out of matchsticks, syringes and what seems to be cactus leaves. Oh boy do I love Twitter!
The video was shared by Twitter user @HeheWaitWhut and it features a man who seems to be boiling syringes. Well, sanitising is a must! The video has a caption which reads, “Not in 100 years could you guess where this is going” and that is accurate. The series of events which lead up to the lipstick being made do not add up but I am here for it.

The man in the video first boils syringes and then cuts the needles off of them. He then goes on to attach match boxes of cactus leaves and puts some powder in the boxes. I am sorry, I clearly am too dumb to understand what he is doing but I am trying my best! He lets all this hang overnight (I presume) and then returns the next day to scrape sime powder off the leaves. He then roasts this powder and crushes it to become a red pigment. Then he uses this red pigment to colour his mixture. Remember the boiled and cut syringes from earlier? Yeah, he uses them as lipstick tubes to fill the colour in. However, the most adorable part of this entire video is the fact that he tries it on himself to show the lipstick! AWWW!

While I am not sure I will be making DIY lipsticks anytime soon, I still enjoyed this video enough to want to write about it. I feel like it is so innovative and kinda cool that people can come up with such methods and processes and make so many things in their own backyard. Who needs Maybelline when we have this DIY-er right here.
