National Coach Threatened To End Top Woman Cyclist’s Career If She Refused To Sleep With Him. Disgusting!
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) made a decision to call the entire Indian contingent back to the country from Slovenia. This decision of the SAI comes after the top-ranking Indian woman cyclist accused chief coach R K Sharma of ‘inappropriate behaviour’. The Indian contingent included five male and one female cyclist and they were set to come back to India on May 14.
SAI Decides To Call Back Indian Cycling Contingent
As per a report by The Free Press Journal, not just the contingent but the coach RK Sharma has also been called back as soon as possible. The top-ranking female cyclist who raised her complaint against the coach to the SAI has said that she was terrified and ‘feared’ for her life in Slovenia. In her complaint, the sportswoman has claimed that the coach had forced her to share the hotel room under the pretence that the hotel room accommodation has been allotted on the basis of twin-sharing.
She wrote to SAI requesting a separate single room after which the coach did not take her with the rest of the contingent to Germany for not complying with his wishes. But as per the latest updates, it is said that she was already allotted a separate room as she was the only female cyclist in the team. Further in the complaint, she has also written that the coach threatened her to end her career if she refuses to sleep with him. By then, the cyclist had decided that she is going to quit the camp as she feared for her safety.
