A police officer who looked into the matter said, “As this video went viral, it came to my notice as well. Having so much gold and displaying it publicly is like inviting criminals. After ground research, we came to know about Bala Koli and called him to the police station. He told us that the gold mangalsutra was fake. He bought it from a jewellery shop and said it costs only Rs 38,000. We later visited the same shop from where he purchased the ornament. We verified it and found it to be fake.”

However even so, the cops urged the couple and public to not don such expensive or expensive-looking jewellery out and about, for it might entice criminals to snatch it, or worse – harm you for it. In the meantime, we are still getting over how real the gold mangalsutra really looked!
