This Russian Influencer Drove A Car With His Girlfriend Gagged, Tied And Handcuffed To Its Roof. He Said It Was A “Trust Test”

If you’ve been through as many painful breakups as I have then you know just how essential trust is to a relationship. It’s the crux. Without it, any relationship, no matter the duration, is doomed. I have seen people go to great lengths to establish trust in their relationships. According to mythology, Lord Ram made Sita walk through fire, my best friend made her boyfriend do a trust fall and I, well, I have trust issues even before entering a relationship. I’m doomed anyway. Today though, I read about this Russian influencer who gagged and tied his girlfriend on top of his moving car as a trust test. I am shook. Who does this? Why did the girl agree to this? There are so many questions.

I know that influencers have to keep coming up with relatable content to stay relevant. They are always trying to one-up each other and think outside the box. But sometimes, they do the weirdest and most problematic things. Like that influencer from New Delhi who tied his dog to a bunch of balloons to see it fly. That’s animal cruelty. Anyway, this Russian influencer Sergey Kosenko from Moscow has crossed all lines. He drove around with his girlfriend tied and handcuffed to the roof of his car. It could’ve gone very wrong, very quickly. Also, how exactly does this establish trust? Logic has left the building. Or in this case, the car.

Sergey enjoys a following of over 5 million people on social media. When this clip of him driving around with his girlfriend tied to his car was shared, netizens were in shock. In the caption of the video, Sergey wrote that this is a “trust test” between the couple. He was charged a fine of 750 rubles (Rs.753 approximately) and the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate is investigating the incident.

The worst part of this entire incident is that because of his large following, Sergey holds some influence. This means that people are going to watch this video, think it’s a new trend and start copying him. Sergey and his girlfriend got lucky. But this is a stunt they wouldn’t even perform in Khatron Ke Khiladi. There are different ways of establishing trust in a relationship. Ones that don’t include insanely dangerous stunts. Hopefully next time, people will try those.
