This Pakistani Influencer Used A Sedated Lioness As A Prop At Her Birthday Bash. What Is Wrong With People?

I understood just how much climate change is adversely affecting our world while watching Our Planet on Netflix. Our actions are not only destroying the environment but they are also the reason countless animals are dying every day. I was wailing while watching those seals fall to their death. But of course, a lot of people are in denial. Because what is responsibility? What’s even more sickening is that, despite being aware, there are so many people who continue to abuse animals for their own entertainment. Like this influencer from Pakistan did, when she used a sedated lioness as a prop for her party. Does she not have a conscience?

It’s no secret that the social media space is extremely crowded and to stand out, you have to think outside the box. But what this influencer from Pakistan, Susan Khan, did is just infuriating. How can you use a lioness as a prop? Tie her up and sedate her just so your guests can take photographs with her. It’s revolting and cruel. Susan received a whole lot of flak for doing what she did.

This entire incident came to light when Protect Save Animals, an animal rescue organisation, shared pictures and videos from Susan’s party in Lahore. The lioness can clearly be seen lying down on the couch in a sedated condition. Their post read, “@susankhanofficial is a so-called influencer who hosted her birthday bash yesterday and needless to say it was an affair that needs to be discussed. While I am not against birthdays and how people choose to celebrate them but I am severely against people using animals as props. And that’s exactly what happened at Miss Susan’s birthday.” Further adding, “Animals are NOT decor that you can use to show your wealth and status at your events. You DO NOT get to violate another being at the expense of your leisure.”

According to reports, a lot of people at the party were scared but they all eventually seemed to enjoy it. Although, no one is sure whether the lioness was illegally rented or brought in by a guest. Whatever the scenario might be, how is this not considered animal abuse? Lionesses are fierce animals. They aren’t someone’s personal form of entertainment or even an aesthetic piece of decor. Why couldn’t Susan just celebrate her birthday like the rest of us? A little cake, a little alcohol, a few friends. I don’t see why the need for a sedated lioness arose.

We have to stop abusing animals in this way.
