Cab Driver Extorts Rs 6 Lakh From A Man After Finding Evidence Of His Extramarital Affair

Ever since we were children, we’ve been taught that we live in a ‘dog eat dog’ world. And while I understand the philosophy, I’ve always hated the phrase. I find it unnecessarily aggressive. But you can’t deny that there are millions of people who will not think twice before harming someone else in order to earn some easy money. Take con artists, for instance. Their entire profession, if you can call it that, is to dupe people, blackmail them and extort money. And these people are standing at every turn just waiting for an opportunity to pounce at you and make you pay, literally. That’s what happened with this man when he left evidence of his extramarital afraid in a cab. He was blackmailed by the driver and put out of lakhs of rupees. As horrifying as this, it should us just how far a man will go to cover up an affair.

A married businessman from Nagpur was blackmailed by a cab driver into paying Rs 6 lakh. This has been going on since 2018. As it turns out, the cab driver was blackmailing the man with evidence of his extra-marital affair. He threatened to tell the man’s wife about his mistress. All this came to light when, after years of giving in to the blackmail, the man approached the police.

According to reports, the victim is the owner of a medical store. He and his girlfriend visited the Patansawangi lodge couple of times in 2018. The man had hired the cab of his acquaintance, identified as Roshan Ingle, a few times to drive them back and forth from the lodge. During one of the visits, the man, accidentally, left the lodge’s receipt, which had his name on it, in Roshan’s cab. That’s what kickstarted this entire blackmailing operation.

After Roshan got his hands on the receipt, he began asking the man for large amounts of money. His friend Vikas Vani was also involved in the extortion. A TOI report stated, “In February 2019, Ingle had started the extortion by demanding Rs 1.50 lakh, followed by a demand for Rs 2 lakh in April the same year. In September 2019, Ingle had managed to extort another Rs 1 lakh from the businessman. In April 2020, Ingle had taken Rs 1.50 lakh from him.”

In total, Roshan managed to exort Rs 6 lakh from this man. What I fail to understand is why didn’t he just come clear to his wife? I am sure that is easier than giving in to blackmail for so long. Anyway, when Roshan recently asked for more money, the man was finally fed up. He approached the police and filed a complaint against the cab driver. Won’t the wife find out anyway now? He paid Rs 6 lakh to keep his affair under wraps. I am not one for victim-blaming but this is just nonsensical.

Roshan and his accomplice, Vikas have been arrested on Tuesday when they showed up at the man’s shop to collect more money.

We have to be extremely careful. Or, you could just not do something as shady as an extramarital affair.
