 Periods are painful, irritating, and the most annoying part of a girl’s life, although it is important to okay. We all are very well aware of the discomforts that happen during periods but there is also a disorder, Dysmenorrhea that many girls face. Even actress Shruti Haasan faced this problem during her teenage years, and she mentioned this in the first episode of The Male Feminist. And it is vital to acquaint ourselves more with this disorder so we know how to deal with them.

In the very new episode of The Male Feminist, Shruti Haasan had a very insightful discussion with  Siddhaarth Aalambayan on various topics. In between this, she also talked about the issue of Dysmenorrhea. Shruti also said that because of this, her schoolmates would get to know that she is having her periods because she used to faint. Yes, Dysmenorrhea can be quite serious.

What Is It?

Dysmenorrhea happens during periods, and it can last up to three days. It is very similar to the cramps that we usually experience during menstruation. Most likely Dysmenorrhea can be caused because of conditions like endometriosis or uterine fibroids.

Who Can Experience it?

Dysmenorrhea mostly is experienced by girls who have a heavy flow during their periods. It can also happen in case of inconsistent period cycles, or if your body is weak.

Symptoms

If you are facing the issue of Dysmenorrhea then you can have severe pain in your lower abdomen. Also, in some extreme cases, girls can experience symptoms like headaches, vomiting, dizziness, etc.

You can make this pain a little better by using a heating pad and reducing stress.  Girls, take care and if this get unbearable for you, then do consult a doctor so they can guide you better on this.
