Zoë Kravitz Is Getting Rid Of Some Of Her Tattoos, Here’s All You Need To Know About Tattoo Removal Methods
The 'Undo' Button

Tattoos are becoming so common these days. You’ll spot many people in malls, metros, colleges or even in your own family rocking tattoos. A person who gets themselves inked usually has some sentiment or idea attached to the tattoo. However, there might come a time, for some people, when they might end up regretting their tattoos later. They might just stop relating to a particular tattoo that they got years back. People change, and so do their preferences. These can include movies and shows that you’re now bored of, dreams you used to chase and even the name of an ex which is now, just a painful reminder. If you also have a tattoo that you wish you never got, then you don’t need a time machine to get it undone. You can get it removed like Zoë Kravitz, who has recently started to get some of her tattoos removed.

The Batman actor Zoë Kravitz, who is rumoured to have as many as 56 pieces of ink on her body, recently announced that she will get some of them lasered off. According to her, tattoos are a beautiful form of adornment, just like makeup or jewellery. But she has decided to remove some of them because she just isn’t vibing with them anymore. We can totally understand that, can’t we?
So, are you rocking in the same boat as her and wondering how to get your tattoos removed? Here’s a list of methods that you can use for the process.
5 Of The Most Effective Tattoo Removal Methods
1. Laser treatment
In this tattoo removal method, intense light pulses are directed towards the tattoo, which results in the breaking down of the pigments in your dermis layer. Over time the tattoo begins to fade as the ink and tattoo fragments are flushed out by the body’s immune system. This is considered the safest method. It is widely opted for by celebrities, even Zoë Kravitz is using this method.
2. Skin Excision
This is when you get the tattooed skin surgically removed by a surgeon. However, it results in bruising and scarring. Therefore this method can and should only be used for smaller tattoos. It is somewhat difficult or impossible for larger tattoos.
3. Cryosurgery
In this method, the medical professional will literally freeze out your skin to remove the tattoo. They will spray or rub a cold liquid of around −196 degrees celsius to cause the skin to tear apart. In some procedures, cryo needles can also be used.
4. Dermabrasion
This process seems a bit scary, it requires spraying a numbing solution and then sanding away the top layers of your tattooed skin to reveal the unblemished skin layers underneath the tattoo. After which a rotating abrasion brush is used to sand away the skin. This method may lead to some bruises and bleeding. It will lighten the tattoo but might not completely remove it.
5. Tattoo Removal Cream
These are quite popular because of their low cost and perceived ease of use. They might be able to fade away your tattoo over time but it will be difficult for the cream to remove the tattoo completely from your skin.

These are some of the common tattoo removal methods which might help you get a clean slate. But if these methods aren’t something you want to go for then you can get it covered up with another tattoo. Covering it with a new tattoo will solve your problem and also give you a new piece of art on your body to love, at the same time.
