World’s Tallest Woman Flies On A Plane For The First Time After Airline Moves 6 Seats. It’s Kinda Sad She Had To Wait So Long

I truly believe that there is a place for everyone in this world. The only difference is that at times you have to make space for yourself and at other times, others make space for you. And the most heartwarming example of others making space for someone took place recently. What am I talking about? Well, recently Turkish Airlines moved six of their economy seats to make room for the world’s tallest woman – according to the Guinness Book of World Records – who was travelling in the plane for the first time. Isn’t this the sweetest thing ever?

Rumeysa Gelgi who features in the Guinness Book of World Records for her 7ft height. She usually travels around using a wheelchair as she has Weaver syndrome – a rare genetic disorder that causes rapid growth. However, recently, the 25-year-old flew for the first time after Turkish Airlines moved six economy seats.

Yes, Turkish Airlines turned six economy seats into a stretcher to make room for Rymeysa Gelgi so she could be comfortable on the 13-hour flight flying from Istanbul, Turkey to San Francisco, United States of America. Talking about her journey on social media, the Guinness Book of World Records holder wrote, “A flawless journey from start to finish… this was my first plane ride but it certainly won’t be my last… a heartfelt thank you to each and every person who has been a part of my journey.”

For those unversed, Rumeysa Gelgi works in the technology software industry and will be in the US for another six months to further her career and collaborate with Guinness World Records.

This is such a heartwarming and inclusive gesture from Turkish Airlines. It really warms my heart to know that there are such kind people out there who would go out of their way to make someone feel comfortable. Ngl, I am presently surprised. But it also makes me wonder, why did it take them so long to be considerate?
