Sania Mirza’s Father Says They Wanted To Tell The World That A Woman Can Have Big Sports Career Even After Childbirth
Everyone who is a tennis enthusiast knows Sania Mirza and her achievements in the sport. She is currently in the final year of her career and is retiring from Wimbledon, leaving her fans heartbroken. She played her last match and bid adieu to the tournament. But she did not win the semi-final, leaving her so close to the win. Her father Imran is very proud of her as any parent would and has showered heaps of praise on her career and her last game s well.
Speaking to Indian Express, Sania Mirza’s father Imran has given an insight into her success and said that they wanted to show the world a woman can have a big sports career even after childbirth. He also said that the fact that Sania is still world number 23 in the final year speaks for itself! Yes, we definitely agree with him!

Her father is also very confident that despite her not winning this time, it will not discourage her the rest of the year. Elaborating more on the same, he said that the match was not over until the last point and that the last two matches were an even closer call than this. Furthermore, he said that professional athletes cannot let these results personally affect them.
Sania penned a heartfelt note as she said goodbye to tennis. She shared a couple of shots of her playing the game and wrote in the caption, “Sport takes so much out of you .. Mentally , physically, emotionally..The wins and the losses ..hours of hard work and sleepless nights after tough losses ? But it gives you soooo much in return that not many other ‘jobs’ can give you and for which i am forever grateful for ? the tears and the joy ,the fight and the struggle.. the work we put in is all worth it in the end ..it wasn’t meant to be this time @wimbledon but you have been nothing but spectacular ? it has been an honor to play here and win here over the last 20 years ..i will miss you ?until we meet again….”
