Ruchira Kamboj, India’s First Woman Envoy To The UN, Has An Empowering Message For Girls As She Takes Charge
There are times when a girl feels absolutely helpless and demotivated to take a new or challenging step. As girls in India, we have been brought up with the idea of what is within our limits and what is absolutely impossible for us to achieve because it’s a man’s world. But gradually, things around are changing and we are getting enough live examples to know that nothing is impossible for girls, and if we want, we can definitely achieve those heights. A similar example has been set by Ruchira Kamboj, who has become India’s first woman ambassador to the United Nations. Ruchira, on taking charge of this position had a very encouraging message for all the girls out there.

Ruchira Kamboj has had a successful career. She was a 1987 batch Indian Foreign Services Officer. Ruchira served her days as the Indian envoy to Bhutan and now is all set to take her career to new heights. She succeeded T.S Tirumurti on Tuesday. Ruchira submitted her documents to the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Gutteres, as per report. It is a moment of pride for all the women of the country as Ruchira takes charge as India’s first woman envoy to the UN. While presenting her documents, the IFS officer also had a note for all the girls that said, “To all the girls,” and it further read that we can do it all.

Talking about, Ruchira Kamboj’s past success in her career, she was the woman topper in her 1987 IFS batch and held many positions thereafter. Her career first began as India’s ambassador to France. She has served as in the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi, and then in Indian High Commission in Port Louis. In the year 2019, Ruchira took the position of India’s ambassador to Bhutan.
