I recently went through a pretty hard time in my life have been stuck in a toxic cycle of seeking validation from my partners and am currently trying to break that cycle. It is a lot of work and returning back to the same patterns feels almost natural. However, this time with just myself has taught me the importance of being by myself and actually figuring out what I want. I feel like my last relationship is what made me take this decision and I am genuinely so pleased with it. I don’t know about you guys but this thread taught me a lot. I have been stuck in this cycle where I have kept myself too occupied with romantic relationships to actually figure out what I want or what makes me happy. And I genuinely recommend taking time from being in a relationship for yourself. It actually teaches you a lot about yourself and reminds you to prioritize yourself over anyone else.
