Poonam Pandey In Hospital, Husband Sam Bombay Arrested On Charges Of Assault

Abuse within marriages is unfortunately pretty common to see. While abuse can go either way, it is usually women who tend to be the victims of these heinous crimes. Women have gotten physically, mentally and sexually abused by their spouses while being married and in many cases has gone as far as death. Unfortunately, according to recent reports, Poonam Pandey accused husband Sam Bombay of assault and he has been arrested for the same after the actress was admitted to the hospital

Sam Bombay was arrested by the Mumbai police after the actress complained against and accused him of assault.  The arrest was done after Poonam Pandey was admitted to a hospital as she had sustained injuries to the head, eyes and face. According to TOI, The Mumbai Police told ANI that, “The case has been registered against Sam Bombay under the sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC). The actress has suffered serious injuries on her head, eyes and face.”

This isn’t the first time Poonam Pandey and her husband have been in the news for something similar. Days into their marriage last year, Sam was arrested for assault in Goa. This took place in the Canacona village in South Goa where the newlyweds were reportedly preparing for a film shoot. Poonam Pandey had filed a complaint saying that her husband molested and threatened her with serious consequences after he had assaulted her. Poonam Pandey also filed a domestic violence complaint but took it back saying, “which marriage does not have its ups and downs.”

It is clear that these incidents are not merely limited to women who are financially dependent on their spouses. While financial independence helps in cases like these, being dependent can make it worse. However, regardless of the woman’s career status, one should not use that as a reason to manipulate or abuse their spouse. I genuinely hope that the accused gets what he deserves.
