Karnataka Hijab Row: Anurag Thakur Shares A Shocking Video Of A Political Leader Misbehaving With A Girl In Hijab

Amid the ongoing controversy in terms of the hijab row in Karnataka, a series of surprising events have left the internet shocked. In a video shared by the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting of India, Anurag Thakur, a man is seen sticking a political rally poster at the back of a girl walking in a hijab. Sharing the clip on his Twitter handle, Anurag Takhur wrote, “Watch the misbehaviour of a political leader with a woman walking on the road… Wherever there are such people with such minds, Why should UP go along with them?” 

 

The Karnataka hijab row has taken a lot of people by surprise. While the petitions are still being discussed in the Karnataka High Court, many popular personalities including Malala Yousafzai and actresses Richa Chadha, Swara Bhasker, Shreya Dhanwanthary have been sharing their take on the matter. Stuck amid the ongoing war between religion, beliefs and clothing, many are labelling the incident as a dirty political play.

Earlier yesterday, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai announced that all schools and colleges will remain shut due to the ongoing hijab row. The CM also asked students, teachers and management of schools and colleges along with the people of the state to maintain peace and harmony. Meanwhile, the Karnataka high court is in the middle of listening to the petition filed by 5 girls who have questioned the hijab restrictions and study in a Government Pre-university College in Udupi. At the ongoing hearing today, Justice Krishna Dixit requested for consideration of a Larger bench. The wisdom emanating from neighbouring HC judgements needs to be treated, as revealed by a report. Furthermore, The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh revealed today that no proposal to ban hijab in educational institutions in the state is under its consideration, even as state school education minister Inder Singh Parmar, who had backed hijab ban and proposed a dress code in schools, said that his statement was “wrongly interpreted”.
