BJP Leader Nupur Sharma Approaches Supreme Court Again, Says She Received “Renewed” Threats

Leaders in India are known for their controversial statements. Most of them end up getting into some serious trouble after saying things and the others still don’t learn from it. For instance, just take a look at the trouble BJP leader Nupur Sharma is in. Two months ago, the politician made some controversial comments about the Prophet Mohammed and Islam while she was representing BJP on a TV show. Following that, there were protests that broke out in India and she was suspended by the ruling party. And later on, her case was taken to the Supreme Court where she had requested to club all the FIRs with one in Delhi, however, the court denied it saying that she was “single-handedly responsible” for the crisis that was taking place in the country. After which she withdrew her plea. But now, Nupur Sharma has approached the Supreme Court to stop her possible arrest and club all the nine cases that are filed against her across India.

BJP leader Nupur Sharma has approached the Supreme Court once again to stop her possible arrest and clubbing all the nine cases that are filed against her across India. In her plea, she cited that she has been getting “renewed” threats after the upper court’s “unexpected and strong” criticism of her.

As per reports, in the new plea that she presented in front of the Supreme Court, Nupur Sharma argued that “fringe elements have renewed” the rape and death threats she has been getting since July 1 – the date when the court criticised her. She had cited such similar threats in her earlier plea. And the court remarked saying, “She faces threats or she has become a security threat? … It is shameful. She should apologise to the whole country.”
