CWG 2022: Nikhat Zareen Brings Home A Gold Medal. We Love How She’s Flaunting Her Tricoloured Nails With Her Win!

It’s the last day of the Commonwealth Games 2022 that is happening in Birmingham. And, good news for the country has been overflowing from this year’s event. From gold to silver and bronze, we have a commendable mix of medal tally won by our athletes. We witnessed many moments of pride which gave us reasons to rejoice. In the latest updates from the Commonwealth Games, boxer Nikhat Zareen has added to the list of medals as well as our moments of pride. Nikhat made India proud again by winning a gold medal in CWG 2022, and those tricolour nails were spot on.

Nikhat Zareen faced the final bout of the women’s light flyweight category on August 7, Sunday. She was up against Northern Ireland’s Carly McNaul. Nikhat had a sweeping victory in the finals of the 50kg light fly with 5-0 against her opponent. The colourful nails that  Nikhat flaunted while grabbing her medal also had a lot of significance to it. As per reports, Nikhat Zareen had got those nails just before her first round of the games. Nikhat’s nail art was very specially done and spoke a lot about the athlete’s determination and priorities. The nails were a combination of Indian flag colours, with one of them having an Ashok Chakra. Two of the nails also had gold medals made on them, which according to Nikhat was a reminder of her goals in this year’s Commonwealth Games. Another motivation that kept Nikhat’s focus intact to get the gold, was that she wanted to give her mother the perfect birthday gift because she could not be with her on that special day.

With this Nikhat got India its third gold medal. Going by a report, as per Nikhat Zareen, the level of the Commonwealth Games was not that of the World Championship, however, it was a new learning experience for her.
