New NeoCoV Variant For Covid Can Be Harmful To Humans. Yeh Dukh Kaahe Khatam Nahi Hota?
Okay, people! Tf is going on? I guess I should be a bit more specific considering how crazy the past few years have been. It all started with 2020 and the disastrous pandemic that does not seem to be ending. Every time things seem to be going back to normal, we end up at the same place we began with Covid throwing more variants at us than Fenty Beauty and Rare Beauty’s foundation shades. And the latter is amazing, unlike the former. After the scare that was caused by the Delta and Omnicron variants, we have yet another one called NeoCov entering the arena which is supposedly caused by bats.
According to Chinese researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Wuhan University, the NeoCov variant is found in South Africa amongst a population of bats and apparently spreads majorly within these animals. NeoCov doesn’t infect humans yet but there might be further mutations that may make the variant harmful for the human population. Kya karu? Mein marr jau?
According to reports, the authors of the study detailed, “In this study, we unexpectedly found that NeoCoV and its close relative, PDF-2180-CoV, can efficiently use some types of bat Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) and, less favourably, human ACE2 for entry.” The also then added, “Considering the extensive mutations in the RBD regions of the SARS-CoV-2 variants, especially the heavily mutated Omicron variant, these viruses may hold a latent potential to infect humans through further adaptation.”

Covid, What’s this behaviour?! After hearing about the new NeoCoV variant’s uprising, I don’t even know if there is a point in making future plans or having any ambitions. Call me dramatic (which I am), but the world seems to be ending. What do you think?
