Mumbai Court Says ‘Women’s Intution Are Spot On’, Rejects Man’s Claim Of ‘Falling On Woman, Kissing Her’ In Train

As someone who travels by train on a regular basis, I can assure you that a lot of women still don’t feel safe while travelling by train due to safety issues. Recently, a Mumbai court found a 37-year-old man guilty of kissing a woman on the cheeks while they were travelling by a local train in 2015. And they say we are just being delusional!

During the hearing of the case that happened nearly seven years ago, the man said that the kiss was unintentional as he was pushed by another commuter. After that, he fell towards the woman and his lips touched her cheeks. However, the court didn’t believe him and mentioned that women are perceptive and are usually aware if something wrong is happening around them. The court also referred to the term ‘women’s intuition’. The court said, “It is said that the women are far more perceptive than men, and this has given rise to what is commonly referred to as women’s intuition. Women have innate ability to pick up and decipher non-verbal signals as well as having an accurate eye for small details… Woman knows a man’s intention when he touches her or looks her. Therefore, it cannot be said that the woman posed these allegations against the act of inadvertence.”

Talking about the case, the victim had mentioned that on August 28, 2015, she went to Govandi to meet a friend. The woman along with her friend boarded a local train from Govandi to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) at 1. 20 pm. She added that the accused boarded the train at Masjid station and sat near her. According to her, the man was constantly looking at her but she ignored him. As soon as the train reached CST station, the man kissed her on the right cheek. After that, the woman raised an alarm and the accused was beaten up by other commuters and was taken to a nearby Police Station.
