As Mithali Raj Bows Out Of International Cricket, A Proud Lookback At Her Glorious Career Highlights

Cricket fans were left heartbroken as Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj announced that she is getting retired from all forms of international cricket. The cricketer has been one of the highest run-scorers in international women’s cricket and is one of the most legendary cricket players ever! We are so proud of her cricket journey and we will miss her terribly on the field as well. Throughout her cricketing career, she has set several records and has also been bestowed with some of the most prestigious sports awards as well. Mithali Raj’s Career Highlights

– The 39-year-old sportswoman became the first cricketer to cross the 7000-run mark in women’s One Day International (ODI) matches.

– Mithali is the first cricket player who holds the record for scoring the most consecutive half-centuries.

– She has also played the most number of ODI matches in women’s cricket. Mithali has played a total of 232 ODI matches of which she led 155 as the Indian team captain.

– Mithali Raj became the first Indian woman cricket player to have scored a double century in Test matches. She set the record in 2002 against England.

– She also set the record for being the only Indian player who scored 2000 runs in Twenty20 International Cricket.

– She became the first Indian woman cricket player to score 10,000 runs.

– When she was just 16-years-old, Mithali had scored a century, becoming the youngest player to score a 100.

– Mithali Raj is also the first woman cricket player who completed 20 years in international cricket in 2019.

– Mithali was awarded the Wisden Leading Woman Cricketer in the World award in 2017, the Arjuna Award in 2003 and the Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna award in 2021.
