MP Mahua Moitra Tweets That Decathlon India Is Violating Privacy And Consumer Laws
As someone with immense social anxiety, I feel like sales reps in stores are my worse nightmare. I cannot deal with the constant hovering around that they do. And don’t get me wrong, I understand that they are just doing their job and I don’t want to complain about that. However, Mahua Moitra is different from me as she has taken to Twitter and tweeted about her experience shopping at Decathlon where her privacy was invaded.
MP Mahua Moitra took to Twitter and posted a series of tweets where she talks about her experience shopping from Decathlon. She had gone shopping for trousers for her father at the store and while buying from the Ansal Plaza branch in Delhi. She has accused Decathlon of violating privacy and consumer laws. This was after she was asked to put in her contact details and email ID while checking out from the store.
I always buy stuff in UK from @DecathlonUK & they NEVER ask for mobile num & only for email if one wants paperless receipt.
So clearly only Indian arm wants to fool customers here. Not nice @Decathlon_India— Mahua Moitra (@MahuaMoitra) April 28, 2022

She tweeted about her experience with the store on Twitter. Her first tweet said that she wanted to buy trousers worth 1400 rupees for her father in cash. However, the manager insisted that she put in her mobile number and email ID for the transaction to occur. She then said that Decathlon is violating privacy and consumer laws.
