Lieutenant Colonel Alleges His Wife Assaulted Him After He Refused To Buy Her A Luxury Car
As per the National Crime Records Bureau and also a few studies conducted on the gender-based violence against men in our country, it was observed that almost 51.5% of males in India have experienced some sort of violence or torture at the hands of their partners or wives. A rather startling statistic in our country that often goes unnoticed because of the even higher rate of crime against women. However, reminding us that men too often suffer at the hands of women and their rage is a recent incident that came to light after a Lt. Col accused his wife of beating him up.
Coming as a shock, reports have surfaced where in a lieutenant-colonel has accused his wife of assaulting him with a golf club, claiming that she did so after being refused by the colonel to buy her an expensive luxury car.
Report of the alleged assault was filed with the DCP of south-west district, Ingit Pratap, who shared how an FIR has been lodged at Delhi Cantonment police station under IPC section 325 (voluntarily causing hurt) on May 6 based on a complaint by the Lt-Col. The FIR shows that the assault had taken place at the home of the victim on February 12th.

Singh claimed that, “When she hit me with a golf stick lying in the room, I tried to protect my head with my right hand. Luckily, because of this evasive action I did not sustain any injury on my head.” Police further elaborated on the details of the case and shared that as per the Colonel, his wife supposedly left the home after beating him with a golf club.
Meanwhile a statement by a senior police officer on the matter stated, “She started arguing with him over purchasing a new luxurious car, and he told her that he was not in a position to buy it, but still promised to give her Rs 10 lakh. She got agitated and started throwing books at him. Suddenly, she picked a golf club lying in the room and started hitting him. He protected himself, but she then slapped him.”
Lieutenant Colonel said, “Then she left the house with the children in a fit of rage. Later I drove myself to the hospital where the doctors diagnosed that I had suffered a metacarpal fracture on my right hand. A medico-legal case was registered by the Army Base Hospital authorities.” He then said, “Till date my wife, who left for her parental home in Punjab, has not returned and she is threatening me with dire consequences and false implication in a case.”
As of now the police has registered a case under the Section 325 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on May 6 while an active police team investigates the matter to find out what really happened.
