The Jharkhand Government Gifts A TV Set To Astam Oraon’s Family So They Watch Watch Their Daughter Lead Women’s U-17 Team In Fifa World Cup
Sometimes what seems to be a little thing for us may be a huge deal of happiness for somebody else. It feels great to see that governments are acknowledging these requirements of the family especially whose daughters are making the country’s name proud. This earnest gesture was witnessed recently when the Jharkhand government gifted a television set to the family of women’s football team U-17 captain, Astam Oraon. The pictures that surfaced on social media showed the bright smiles on their faces.

The motive and the timing behind the Jharkhand government’s presence were also commendable. Our Indian women’s football team U-17 is going to play in the FIFA World Cup in Bhubneshwar. Now, this match will become all the more special for Astam’s family and the people from her village, as they can now witness their daughter’s skills as a footballer. Astam Oraon hails from a small village in the Gumla district of Jharkhand. The team is going to compete against the US for the opening match in the FIFA World Cup, and what could be more exciting for the family than to watch this huge moment on the TV screens?

Looking at the brighter side here first, this was a very thoughtful move by Jharkhand to give the family an opportunity to see what great heights their daughter is achieving at this young age. With this, they will no longer be unknown of the fact that the whole country cheers for their daughter and the team. However, I still believe that the government should also provide other facilities to these girls that encourage them to make a successful career in this field. It is often been in news, that the sports persons in our country, apart from cricket, of course, are not given the due that they deserve which is a very sad reality. I hope this changes soon!
