You know, I know that this world is too misogynistic but there’s a certain limit to everything and I think that some people are crossing the line in a very problematic way. Recently, a London-based magazine used a picture of a famous Iraqi actress for a misogynistic body-shaming article. After that, the Iraqi actress, Enas Taleb, decided that she will sue the magazine for using her pictures to illustrate an article about ‘fat’ Arab women. This really needs to stop!
The London-based magazine, The Economist recently published an article on ‘fat’ Arab women titled “Why women are fatter than men in the Arab world,” while using a picture of a famous Iraqi actress, Enas Taleb without her permission. Her picture was used to illustrate how Arab women are more prone to putting on weight than men. The controversial article has received criticism on social media platforms. Many people are saying that The Economist’s article is sexist, racist, and an insult to all Arab women. After the controversy, the 42-year-old actress said that she has decided to sue the magazine for defamation.

In the misogynistic article, the word ‘fat’ was reportedly repeated nearly six times. Enas Taleb said that she had no choice but to speak up after they used her picture in a hurtful and negative way. She mentioned that she is against using one’s body shape to determine their value. The local rights group are demanding an apology from the magazine for degrading women.
Well, I don’t why the magazine was trying to raise unnecessary health issues by body shaming women.
