Caucasian Woman Charges Rs. 100 From Indian Men Wanting A Selfie With Her. We’re Shallow, And She’s Smart!
From our “fairness” creams to our search for “fair” brides – we Indians are obsessed with the white skin colour. In fact, we are not only obsessed with skin colour but also with everything they do. In order to follow in their footsteps, we have time and again embarrassed ourselves in a way that gets really hard to redeem afterward. And this time around it is no different. Recently a Reddit user shared a video wherein you can see how loads of men are drawing towards an Australian, white-skinned woman who is simply just existing – similar to how moths are drawn to a flame. And the best part? The woman figures out to make a profit with these men who are trying to click a selfie with her by charging them for it. I wish I had made this up but nope, this is our truth.
Recently, a Reddit user by the name of r/IndianDankMemes shared a video wherein a white-skinned, Australian woman named Celia Voivodich drew multiple Indian men towards her while she was just visiting the Gateway of India in Mumbai.

In the video, you can see Indian men getting comfortable and close to the white-skinned woman (shocked but not surprised) and start taking selfies with her. In fact, the comfort level of these men reaches a point where you can see a man with a grey colour beanie placing his arm across Celia Voivodich’s neck to get a selfie.
The video is shot during the pre-Covid times when social distancing was not a thing (and by the looks of it nor was personal space). The video also shows the Australian woman playing it cool and soon realises that she could make loads of money just by getting photographed with these Indian men. In the video, Celia Voivodich tells a man, “You give me one-hundred rupees..per photo.”

The white-skinned woman then goes on repeating herself “One hundred rupee per photo”. And it seems like Indian men actually went ahead and coughed up that much amount just to take a selfie with her. Talking about the incident on her Facebook page, Celia Voivodich stated that the video was “NOT STAGED”. She added, “Yes, I noticed I was getting a lot of attention in this particular spot in Mumbai, but the men who approached me did naturally, they’re not actors.” She also went on to say that she found herself in a similar situation 45mins prior to the one in the video and this time around she chose to record it for the sake of content.
*Facepalms* If this is not the aptest representation of how we Indians are obsessed with white-skinned people then I really don’t know what is. I mean, we are ready to pay a woman to take selfies with her just because she is fair – really how much more shallow can we get?
