They May Be Making Millions Now, But The First Salary Of These Bollywood Actresses Was Peanuts!
So Vidya Balan recently opened up about her first salary, saying that it was a mere Rs.500 which she made for standing on the side and posing with a tree. My first salary was as a promotion girl in college where I made some money (I can’t recollect how much now) for handing out pamphlets to unsuspecting people. Most of the time, these people crumpled my paper and threw it in the next bin, but thankfully, all I had to do was hand them out. Obviously, it’s not like the cash registers were ringing because the amounts were tiny but hey, it was my hard earned salary and I was always thrilled at whatever little amount I made.
And then, because I am a curious cat, I did a quick search to find out how much our Bollywood actresses made as their first salary. Turns out, pretty much all of us were sailing in the same boat and even these actresses weren’t raking in the moolah. Phew! Of course, now these women probably have a vault filled with money where they go in and lie on a bed of currency notes. Or maybe, I am just letting my imagination run wild.
