Hair Stylist Sapna Bhavnani Says Lara Dutta’s Wig Isn’t All That Great In Bell Bottom.
When I first watched the trailer for Akshay Kumar’s new movie, Bell Bottom, I liked it but I didn’t give it a second thought. I’m not particularly a Bollywood movie person. Although, I distinctly remember watching the scene with Indira Gandhi and thinking to myself that the actor looked uncannily similar to our former PM. Of course, at the time, I didn’t know the actor behind all that prosthetic makeup was Lara Dutta. How could I know? It’s impossible to tell. The hair and makeup team responsible for her transformation should receive an Oscar. Or a Filmfare award at least. Although, while everyone is going gaga over Lara’s insane makeover, there is one person who didn’t seem to enjoy it. Sapna Bhavnani took to Twitter to point out that Lara’s wig wasn’t put on right.
Responding to director Raja Sen’s tweet about how impressive Lara’s makeup was is in Bell Bottom, Sapna Bhavnani said that she wasn’t a big fan of it. She went on to criticize the wig and said it was put on in a shabby way because she could see the lining of it. Sapna also pointed out that our industry hasn’t come close to perfecting hair yet. But clearly, we have mastered prosthetics.
Such a bad wig though can see the lining of it. But ofcourse you wouldn’t as you’re not a hair person. We haven’t come close to mastering hair yet .

Sapna tweeted, “Such a bad wig though you can see the lining of it. But of course, you wouldn’t as you’re not a hair person. We haven’t come close to mastering hair yet.” In a follow-up tweet, she shared a picture and pointed out the lines that could be seen. With it, Sapna wrote, “See this white glaring wig line .. natural hairlines are not like this at all.”
Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinions. But looking at the whole picture, Lara looks unbelievably like Indira Gandhi. That’s what counts, right?
