Girl From Assam Brutally Beaten, Assaulted And Abused By 5 People In A Video. Assam Police Offers Reward For Information
I imagine that no one really likes to be bitter or pessimistic in life, but you know it’s a messed up world we live in when you realise that as a writer for a progressive women’s platform, no day goes by without the news of violence against women coming up. In most of the cases, it’s brutal and scary. With the increase in number of violent crimes against women, it’s not shocking to see such cases being talked about but what is alarming is that each crime tends to get more violent and more brutal. And this one is from Assam.
Like this one recently being reported from Assam, where a video of a girl has gone viral. An appalling video, it shows her being tortured, harassed and sexually abused by 5 people that have also been captured on camera. And what is even more distressing, is that one of those 5 people was a woman. The disturbing video is testament to the worrying condition of women out there.

These images are of 5 culprits who are seen brutally torturing & violating a young girl in a viral video.

The Assam police that is trying to turn every stone to find the culprits in the act and have through a tweet, urged the people of Assam to identify and offer information on the whereabouts of the 5 accused. They have also announced that they are willing to handsomely reward any person who would be willing to provide information on the video and those involved.
Meanwhile the video that has sent chills down our spines and made us lose faith in humanity, shows the five accused slapping, abusing, stepping on the face of the victim and even inserting a glass bottle inside her private parts.

While people tried to the link the victim from the video to the girl who recently committed suicide in Jodhpur, Kiren Rijiju has clarified that the two were different women. He also wrote in a tweet, “The viral video of a girl from North-East being brutally raped and tortured by 4 men & 1 women is not related to Jodhpur suicide case. I had detail discussion with the Police Commisioner of Jodhpur. However, there must be all out efforts by all State Police to catch the devils.”
As far as the investigation into the matter is concerned, Former Special Commissioner of Delhi Police, Robin Hibu, IPS and President of Helping Hands, NGO for people of Northeast in Delhi issued a statement on the matter saying they are trying to identify the girl and the offenders for further action.
