Flight Attendant Reveals A Simple, Free Hack To Get Upgraded To Business Class. We’re So Trying This!

One of my most favorite modes of transport has to be a train because let’s face it, those train journeys are one of a kind. But since they take a lot of time, my second most favorite has to be, hands down, flights. Do you even need to ask why? I mean, it’s so convenient, time-saving, relaxing, and the list goes on. And I always end up traveling in economy class (can’t afford business class just yet!) but there was this one time that I had reached the airport a bit late and they told me that they were upgrading me to their business class. Ever since then, I have tried out different ways to get an upgrade—I have even directly asked them once to do it. But they have rarely ever worked. So, instead of me telling you my ways of getting an upgrade, I give you a flight attendant who has revealed a simple way of getting upgraded to business class for free!

Flight attendant Helena Afroughi revealed a simple hack that passengers can use to get upgraded to business class without paying for it. And her hack says that all you need to do is be kind and nice to your cabin crew!

The flight attendant said, “You can come up and talk to us a little bit. Not too much unless the conversation is flowing, because I’ve had passengers that sit there and talk forever. And after that, just ask away. If you ask nicely and kindly it’s rare that a crew will say no.”

Helena also admitted that bribery also helps along with giving out sweet treats to cabin crew members is considered to be a kind gesture. The flight attendant added, “What always works is when people bring some sweets to the crew, chocolates or whatever. And they make themselves known. Don’t just give it and run away. Usually, people do it as a thank you, but I’ve seen it more with people that have family working as crew too, so they appreciate the crew more… When people do that, the cabin chief would be like ‘make sure you go up to him and ask him if he wants coffee or tea’ because we could give it for free. Obviously not everything from the snack bar though.”

While revealing her hack, Helena Afroughi also made it clear that this hack might not work with every airline and every flight attendant, as all of them have different sets of rules. She even added a tip for all those who are planning to use the hack to get a business class upgrade. Her tip for people is that they should avoid the grumpy cabin crew members and go for the newly joined employees who are still not that aware of their limitations.

Well, I don’t know about you folks but the next time I am traveling, I’m going to try using this hack by the flight attendant. And who knows, I just might get the business class upgrade for free. Cause why travel in economy class when you can travel in luxury, right?
