And I remember this one time day when I was in 11th grade, I was walking to the railway station when I saw a man masturbating in full public view looking at me and I have never felt more disgusted. Sadly, I’m not the only one this has happened to. In a recent case, a 23-year-old man was arrested by the Southern Railway police for allegedly masturbating in front of a woman inside the ladies compartment of a local train. Ye chal kya raha hai?
On Monday, a man identified as 23-year-old Lakshmanan was arrested from the Chrompet area and handed over to the Tambaram railway police. The man has been accused of masturbating in front of a woman in the ladies compartment of a local train which was going from Nungambakkam to Tambaram on 9 February. A case has been registered under section 354 A of the IPC for sexual harassment. The woman happened to be a journalist who filed a complaint with the railway police at St Thomas Mount after the incident. The woman got onto the train around 9.40 pm and a little while after the train crossed the Pallavaram station she saw the accused sitting in the ladies compartment and masturbating in front of her. The woman recorded a video of the incident on her phone and questioned the man. Soon after, the train reached Chrompet station when the man got off and fled the spot.
The woman, who works for a well-known Tamil YouTube channel, posted the video on the video-sharing website. She also shared a video of herself and sought better safety measures for women in the local trains. She urged the government to initiate action and install CCTV cameras in the ladies compartment and assign a guard to be present there at night.
