From Sanitary Pads To Vatican City Theme, Here’s A List Of All The Unique Durga Puja Pandals Of 2022
As a person who is born and brought up in West Bengal, Durga Puja has been the most awaited time of the year for me. Of course, because of the long vacations from school, but most importantly to go for the pandal hopping. Every year, the pandals are made on different themes, and the months of hard work are clearly seen in the final product Unfortunately, I could not be present to witness the gorgeousness of my state this year, but even this year, Bengal has blown my mind with its creativity. Not just in terms of the designs, but the progressive mindset that they have promoted this year. Special mention to Asansol, a town in West Bengal where a pandal has been made with sanitary pads. Along with this, there are some other amazing pandals that I am going to list down-

The Sanitary Pads Pandal
Asansol, a town in West Bengal, witnessed a pandal made of sanitary napkins this year. It was a surprise to see this because the topic of pads and in fact period is still such a taboo in India, and to see this in a town is an example of progress. The pads have also been given an impression of red stains, on them. Kudos to this idea that will normalise periods.
Vatican Theme
There are long queues waiting to get a glance at big pandals. I am sure this is one pandal that will get to see this long queue. The pandal by one of the famous Puja committees in Kolkata- Sree Bhumi Sporting Club, this year designed a Vatican theme styled Puja Pandal. The intricacies in achieving perfection will just leave you in awe.

Burj Khalifa
Yes, the replication of the tallest building has also been this year. The pictures of which are just gorgeous. The pandal has been made in the Salt Lake area of Kolkata.

An Ode To KK
This year, we all were shaken by the sudden death of KK during his performance at the Nazrul Manch. One of the pandals in Kolkata gave a tribute to the legendary singer, KK by replicating the Nazrul Manch for their theme. They put statues of KK around the pandal.
