The recent report of a man in Delhi murdering his live-in partner and chopping her body up in 35 parts to dispose them off has sent a chill down my spine. What I cannot understand is the rage that this person might be feeling against his own lover that he chopped the body up into 35 parts. Also, this murder case came to light 6 months after the victim, Shradha Madan was reported missing in May this year. Her partner Aftab Ameen Poonawala has been brought into five-day police custody for murdering her. Here are more details about Aaftab Ameen Poonawala and Shradha Madan.
Who is Shradha Madan?
The victim, Shradha Madan, used to work at a call centre in Malad. It is reported that she met Aftab there. The couple fell in love and decided to get married, too. But their families were against their relationship and therefore, they eloped to Delhi. Shradha and Aaftab rented a house in Delhi’s Mehrauli area.
All was not well between them as Aaftab has promised he would marry Shradha but that did not seem to be happening. But once Shradha started asking about their marriage plans, Aftan did not like it. In a fit of rage, he strangled Shradha and killed her. He murdered her in May. Shradha’s father who lived in Vasai came to Delhi looking for her as one of her friends informed him that Shradha’s phone was switched off for a couple of weeks now.
Who is Aaftab Ameen Poonawala?
Reportedly, Aaftab Ameen Poonawala is a Mumbai-based food blogger. He runs a page called ‘Hungry Chokro’ on social media. Aaftab would share pictures and videos of food on this page, and also show off some of his photography skills. When he got fed up with Shradha asking him to marry her, he lost it and strangled her.

He has also confessed his crime to the police. Aftab bought a fridge to keep the chopped-up body parts of Shradha. He also has said that’s got inspired by the TV show Dexter to commit this heinous crime.
It is shockingly scary when cases like these come to light.
