4 Books That Sensitively Navigate The Subject Of Suicide

September 10 is observed as World Suicide Prevention Day. The aim of commemorating a day like this is to make society come together to prevent suicides from happening. The day is organised by International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and supported by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Suicides can be prevented through collective action and awareness. We, as a community, need to be sensitised towards at-risk groups. This day draws attention to mental health as well. The theme for World Suicide Prevention Day 2022 is ‘creating hope through action’.

As much as a sensitive topic suicide is, it is important to be aware of it and also of the ways you, as an individual, can be of help to that person. If you are not sure how and where to start, it is always advisable to seek an expert’s help for this. You could also join a group that engages in such helpful activities. Or you could also read some books that help you understand this subject better. Now, it does not mean that you have read heavy non-fiction books but rather there are many fictional books written surrounding suicide that might offer some insight and be of help as well.

Now, it is up to her whether she wants to go live an alternative version of her life or just go back to her real one.
