Cafe Owner Asks Female Staff On Period To Wear Red Stickers. Can We Also Get Stickers To Indicate Misogyny?

This is so stupid!

You know, when I started menstruating, it was awful because I had zero knowledge about it but I managed it quite well. However, I don’t know when men will ever understand the whole concept of periods and someone needs to give them a proper lesson on how to behave around people who are menstruating because the situation is getting worse. In Australia, a café owner revealed that he asked his female staff to wear red stickers when they are on their periods and the reason is quite humiliating. People are so misogynistic, yaar!

A café owner from Australia is getting slammed on the internet by many after he revealed the misogynistic rule the female staff who works in his café have to follow. Appearing on the Kyle and Jackie O show, the owner named Anthony said that he asked the female staff to wear a red sticker indicating that they are menstruating. He said that he came up with this rule to deal with ’emotionally stressed and hormonal’ female staff members and his statement is so problematic. The owner claimed that he faced issues with two staff members and revealed that it took place in front of the customers. After that, he decided that the female employees will wear red stickers to announce that they are on their period, so others could get a bit of understanding or space. Erm, that is the most ridiculous thing we have ever heard, to be honest!

He further compared the red sticker to L plates carried by new drivers. Anthony’s statements left the two radio hosts in utter shock. Jackie O criticised his proposal and said that it is humiliating to women. She mentioned that he can’t force his female staff to reveal their menstrual cycle to their co-workers and customers.

Well, if he genuinely wants to help the female staff, he should allow them to take period leaves rather than proposing such crass rules.
