Dalit Pregnant Woman Loses Her Baby After Being Tortured By A BJP MLA And Son. We Should Be Ashamed As A Country!
We are living in a time where people have become so heartless and intolerant towards a particular community that they turn into monstrous beings. We have seen such horrible crimes against Dalits in recent years and it is so distressing to think that we are still witnessing this inhumane level of classism. Another astounding incident has been reported from Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru district, where a BJP MLA has been accused of locking up and torturing 16 Dalits just because they were unable to repay a certain amount of loan, and a two-month pregnant lady lost her baby. Is this the future we see for our country? This is just shameful!
The atrocious act carried out by the BJP MLA Jagadeesha Gowda and his son Tilak Gowda came to light when the pregnant Dalit woman was admitted to the hospital in a severe condition. When the FIR was registered against the MLA, further investigations led the police to the place where other Dalit people were kept and tortured. As per the news, these people were daily wagers, and as a “punishment” for not being able to repay the loan to the MLA, were given this inhumane treatment.

The pregnant woman lost her baby, and according to the police, a total of 16 Dalit people, and 4 families in total were found in that room. The people were kept for 15 days in that room, and as per the pregnant woman victim, the accused used to beat and verbally abuse them. Going by the news reports, the two accused are absconding, however, the police are trying to get them asap.

There should be strict action taken against the accused as they have no rights to deal with humans in such a sadistic way. Our country might be making progress in various fields, however, the fact that we are still living in a time where hatred against class and race exists, all our progress will just be overshadowed, and this is just pulling our country back to those times when this discrimination was highly prevalent.
