Alyssa Healy of Australia Women is the first wicketkeeper in T20I cricket history to record 100 dismissals from behind the stumps. The 32-year-old reached this milestone on Friday during the T20I match between Australia and India at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.
In September 2020, Healy surpassed former India captain and wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni to record the most dismissals in the game’s shortest format. In 98 T20Is, Dhoni had 91 dismissals to his name. Healy assisted Grace Harris in eliminating Yastika Bhatia during the match versus India. Smriti Mandhana, the team’s opener, was also sent back to the pavilion when she caught a wide Darcie Brown delivery.
She took an outstanding catch down the leg side in the 12th over to get rid of Shafali Varma for 48. The Indian team scored 154/8 points. Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain, led the way with a brilliant half-century. Before Megan Schutt dismissed her in the last over, she was able to slam 52 runs off of just 34 deliveries. Jess Jonassen took four wickets for Australia, and Megan Schutt claimed two more.
