This New Liquid Lipstick Is Hydrating, Long-Lasting And Kiss-Proof, Matlab Perfect For Valentine’s Day!
Eyeliners might’ve been the first makeup product that I ever used, but it was lipstick that really opened my eyes to the transformative power of makeup. The way it amped up my look, made me appear sexy even if I was dressed in holey PJs and with a tousled bedhead… lipstick is BAE. So imagine the pangs I feel when I have to wear a mask while stepping out, covering up that luscious pout I created after blending 2-3 lip colours, and sometimes even some lip gloss. But of course, safety first, and mask up always. Because we do have lipsticks that are smudge-proof, last through hours of mask-wearing and even through a little bit of coochie-cooing, if I might add, considering it’s Valentine’s Week. All of this without feeling too drying on the lips. I am talking about the newly launched Faces Canada Comfy Matte Liquid Lip Colour.

Once you go liquid, there’s pretty much no going back. But the biggest issue with some liquid lipsticks that promise a matte finish is that they’re often too drying. No amount of rubbing lip balm on your lips will help! So then what do you do? You think you want to go for a semi-matte look, but it’s going to stain your masks, and one drink of water or a meal might wipe it all off. The struggle is real! But not so much with this new Comfy Matte range that Faces Canada dropped last month, as I was glad to discover. I put them to the ultimate test—during the wedding season—and here’s what I found!
Faces Canada Comfy Matte Liquid Lip Colour Shades and Packaging
Let’s talk about the packaging first, shall we? The Comfy Matte comes in this cute, gold-capped transparent jar so you can see the colour. The packaging looks good, and the size is very compact. I was attending a wedding where I had to carry a look from day to night, and I decided I would change my lip colour from light to dark. The Comfy Matte comes in 12 gorgeous and highly pigmented shades, with a range of nudes and browns, pinks and plums, and reds and corals.
Of these, the shade 07, Note To Self, is easily my go-to nude brown that I wore for the day function. I’m someone who wears dark shades a lot because finding the perfect nude that goes with my skin is a task. So this one was quite the find! For the night, I decided to go darker and opted for the shade 03, On My Way, a deep plum that looked gorgeous on me. I carried both of these, along with a bunch of other things, in my small clutch, so you know just how compact they are.

How long-lasting and comfy is the Comfy Matte?
One of the biggest claims that the Comfy Matte range makes is that it is long-lasting, for up to 10 hours. A bold one, and one that I definitely put to the test at my sister’s wedding, where I was a bridesmaid. And I am happy to report that it passed with flying colours. The lip colour might lighten a little over time, but there’s none of that annoying smudging or dry peeling that often happens when your lip colour is worn off. The application is rich and gorgeous, and does not feel drying at all; in fact, it barely feels like you’re wearing anything. I guess that means the natural oils are doing their job well.
With the usual tricks and hacks, the lip colour is transfer-proof to an extent. And your’s truly can also confirm that it is kiss-proof (don’t ask the details of how I know!). All in all, it definitely lasted me for 6-7 hours, with little to no fading, and that’s saying something. Ohh and it smells really nice too!

These are as good as minis, and also come at a very affordable price of INR 399 for 3 ml of product.
Verdict
The Faces Canada Comfy Matte Liquid Lip Colour is easily becoming one of my favourite liquid lipsticks because they come with all the pros of matte liquid lipsticks without the cons. I would totally love it if there was a bigger version of this product because even at the expected price point, it does the job way better than many luxe ones. A total steal, and perfect to wear for Valentine’s Day, whether you’re snogging your boyfriend or girlfriend, or sipping cocktails with your girls for Galentine’s!
