‘Carry On Jatta 3’ Star Sonam Bajwa In Her Punjabi Suit Collection Is A Proper Patola

While Sonam Bajwa is basking in the success of her latest Punjabi film release–Godday Godday Chaa, she has already taken up the duty of promoting her popular film franchise–Carry On Jatta 3. And oh boy, the fashion on her feed is giving a new approach to Punjabi suits. One of the biggest stars from the northern state, Bajwa’s personal style tries to strike a balance between contemporary and classic designs. One day in a salwaar kameez, Sonam has the power and skill to surprise you the next day in a tennis skirt and backless dress. But especially in the category of suits, she makes sure every design suits her. So, check out some of our favourite pieces from her collection, that bind modern-day aesthetics with the classic cuts.

Diamond Touch

First up on our list is this fitted short kurta teamed with pants on Bajwa. The actress adds a dazzling effect to the look, with her crystal-sewn embroidery and a delicate tennis neckpiece. The sorbet-hued ivory set marinates the chandelier chic aesthetic into a Punjabi suit silhouette, with minimalism at its core.

New Age Bandhani

Combining the rich culture and heritage of the two states, Sonam’s Punjabi suit silhouette meets Gujarat’s famous bandhani print in this electric blue kurta set. Decorated with heavy gottas, she plays with the print-on-print technique with a matching kurta and churidaar set, adorned with a sheer dupatta.

Royal For A Reason

Keeping in mind the beauty of royal neckline designs, Bajwa enjoys experimenting with angrakha patterns and twinkling dupattas, through sitaara embroidery. Her mukaish veil in white is matched with an oversized kurta, that features an interesting side keyhole and silver embroidery. Bajwa completed the look with traditional jutti and shoulder-grazing earrings.

Bringing Back The Salwaars

Famously known as the salwaars or harem pants, Sonam also loves to dig into old-school silhouettes to put her new perspective on them. Through this salwaar suit, she played with the varied shades of blue, and grey in a tricolour technique and made sure of her comfort through an anti-fit cut and bell sleeves. Showing us that suits can also double up as loungewear.
