Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Zoya Akhtar Roar In Style For Dahaad On The Berlin Film Festival Red Carpet

Team Dahaad revealed some fun deets about the series too!

The Indian entertainment industry has been making headlines for all the right reasons and making us all proud on an international level. And now, the Indian web series Dahaad has made its way to the Berlinale International Series Festival. Created by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, Dahaad has been produced by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi. This Sonakshi Sinha, Gulshan Devaiah, Sohum Shah and Vijay Varma starrer show is the first Indian web series to premiere at the Berlinale Series Festival.

For the premiere of Dahaad, Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, and Ruchika Oberoi arrived at the Berlinale Series Red Carpet roaring in style. Sonakshi Sinha opted for a midnight blue embellished saree gown with an asymmetrical hemline and ruched bodice. Draped in midnight blue shimmer, the actress opted for a chic white bag and kept her accessories minimalistic. And the actress made sure to go all out on her first time on an International red carpet with her makeup look. Sonakshi opted for a shimmery eyeshadow with dramatic graphic eyeliner and light pink lipstick.

Vijay Varma complimented his co-star dressed in a white suit like a knight in white. And Reema Kagti opted for a black suit.

In a conversation with the host at the Berlinale Series Red Carpet, Reema Kagti shared that she’s nervous about the screening of Dahaad while adding that she’s just as excited about it since this series is something that she has been working on through the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the lockdowns. She also added that she hasn’t worked on something longer than this all her life and she’s excited that her work is finally going to see the light of day.

Actress Sonakshi Sinha also spoke about her work and revealed that this is the first time that she is attending a film festival and it’s also the first time that one of her works is competing for an award on an international platform while adding that she is thrilled about it. She also spoke about her bond with cinema, coming from a film family and said that that’s what makes her feel comfortable before the camera. Sonakshi also said that India is crazy for cinema.

When asked about her character in Dahaad, Sonakshi Sinha told the Berlinale Series host that her character is a strong, independent Indian woman who is also a tough cop. She also revealed that she learnt how to ride a bike for this series and now she has fallen in love with it and even bought a bike of her own.

On the other hand, Vijya Varma shared that shooting for the film in Rajasthan reminded him of his childhood days when he would visit his maternal grandma during his summer vacations. When asked to describe Dahaad in 3 words, he called it an “atmospheric, noir and drama” series.

Team Dahaad also spoke on the stage and interacted with the audience after the screening of the series.
