Anne Hathaway Arrived For Berlinale In A Romantic Version Of Gothcore
The queen of hearts!
Anne Hathaway proves she was the perfect fit for the Devil Wears Prada, in each of her sartorial experiments for the red carpet. For the grand premiere of her latest project–She Came to Me, the actress whipped up two unique style recipes in showstopping black ensembles. Collaborating with her longtime stylist–Erin Walsh, the star walked in for the photocall in a stop-and-stare look by Alaïa. Speaking of goth glam, a trend that is visibly growing on her, Hathaway entered the room in a version of a hooded gown. The pick from Alaïa’s SS23 collection was a sweet spin to the trend, featuring a delicate hood, a v-neckline, and an anti-fit waist, adorned with a hip ruched leather belt with a statement zipper.

The Gothcore look was styled with Bulgari jewellery, see-through stockings in black, and a pair of strappy heels. She sealed the look with a pair of black sunnies while signing autographs.

Later for the actual red carpet, Hathaway chose to style her romantic hair bangs, in a messy top knot, alongside a see-through dress. This format of a naked dress was picked from the shelves of Valentino. The column gown by the Italian designer house featured a bow-motif, leather overlay on the dotted fabric, which Hathaway styled over her skin-hued bodysuit. This spin on the cult-favourite naked dress was styled using regal, Opera gloves in ruched leather, and a pair of closed heels. For accessories, the She Came To Me star wore a pair of droplet earpieces. For makeup, she settled for sharp eyeliner and her signature, nude lip colour.

Unlike the previous appearances made by Anne, this latest red carpet fashion was full of blacks, which resonates with her look in the film. The significance of the colour appears on our screens like a new style era that Anne is ready to enter. This somewhat bridges the gap between her love for romantic hues, more soft design elements, and strong, statement black. Anne, masterfully dished out a romantic version of gothcore with hoods, and leather gloves. The two style trends of a hooded gown and naked dress remain the key features in both her looks.
