Sanjana Sanghi Makes Ethnic Wear Look Uber Cool With These Sarees And Pantsuits

Well, I am not a big fan of heavily embellished lehengas and sarees that often restrict the luxury of walking that I have in them. And that definitely is an issue for most of us, especially the Gen-Z that loves to wrap around some classic Indian prints but runs away thinking about the effort it takes to wear them. But with our favourite celebs around, there’s nothing much you gotta worry about. Abh you’ll ask how? Then dear readers let me take you inside actress Sanjana Sanghi’s Indian wear closet that is fun, youthful and easy-peasy to dress up in. Be it her choice of shades or fabric or even the marriage between Indian and contemporary styles, we say this diva has made vintage the new cool and I am dying to try ’em all soon.

Making Sarees look cool

Making the sarees look uber cool, Sanjana’s stunning green saree and blouse is best suited for summers. While her idea of styling a rather crop-top like silhouette with a Kota Doria saree, is already impressive, we loved the label that it comes from. Yes, for a fun brand shoot, Sanajan, opted for hand-dyed & hand block printed blouse and saree in the shade green from the Diya Kumari Foundation store, which is an initiative by Princess Gauravi Kumari, daughter of Princess Diya Kumari, that works solely for the empowerment of women and girls in rural Rajasthan. Besides the noble initiative, the design is breezy, fresh and beautifully weaves India’s traditional block print design with modern-day silhouettes. We love it Sanjana.

Sunshine Gold

Another one from our list of favourites is this supremely fine pant-suit set that features the beauty of Assamese silk fabric. Wearing label Joskai’s designs, Sanjana beautifully styled the mauve and dull gold, handwoven Mulberry silk pant-suit and brought the goodness of both Indian traditional craft and the powerful nature of a modern-day power suit. She further styled the entire look with a pearl and Kundan multi-layered necklace.

Sea Saree

Sarees hold a special place in Sanjana’s closet and we love her choice of shades. Exploring a plethora of non-traditional colour palettes, Sanjana’s saree collection is a blend of lighter hues and minimal embellishments. I mean, just look at this Raw Mango number in the shade blue and gold on Sanjana. Apart from the lovely shade, we liked her idea of going easy on accessories, with a dainty maang tika making a comeback in Indian ethnic wear. We really ignored that piece of accessory for years now.

Floral Paradise

Jumping from delicate details to the fabulous flavour of colours and added flounce, Sanjana opted for label Torani’s gorgeous violet lehenga set and we too want one now. Offering a mix of floral and geometric designs, the half-and-half print, spread throughout the skirt matches well with the floral blouse. In order to accessorise the look, Sanjana added a pair of fringe-dangler earrings and experimented with her hair. This look deserves a ten on ten.

Anarkali But make it fun

Continuing with her sartorial steak of all shades bright, Sanjana’s white Sukriti and Aakriti anarkali, replete with multi-hued thread embroidery deserves a mandatory mention in this list. Just like her previous looks, we loved Sanjana’s attempt at painting her lids blue with a coloured eyeliner and a pair of chaandbaalis, all serve as elements that can do wonders with the colour white. While wearing truckloads of shades is not what every dresser roots for, this sprinkled colour-play pulled off by Sanjana can be your first interaction with multi-hued designs. Plus the addition of that ivory potli is great to carry the world around, to every wedding you attend.
