Dreamy and whimsical, the lovebirds tied the knot today at Ranbir’s Mumbai residence–Vastu and have finally dropped the official images.

Switching gears from vermillion red to wonderland white, as expected Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor opted for wedding couture King–Sabyasachi’s designs for the D-Day. With white and gold ruling the wedding wardrobes of the couple, Sabyasachi’s intricate detailing on the fabric served his famous grandeur. Experimenting a little, Alia Bhatt chose to wear a sheer ivory organza saree, that featured golden details, headlined by matching sequins, fine tilla work and scalloped borders, accompanied by a tissue veil.

The now Mrs Kapoor, teamed the gorgeous drape with a matching, off-white blouse that exhibited a variety of butterfly and floral motifs, giving a spring update to the wedding wear. For jewels, Alia chose to wear a statement matha-patti, and stunning diamond neckpiece, emerald encrusted jhumkas, chunky kundan bangles by Sabyasachi and clouds and stars laden dainty kaleeras had a special connection with the number 8 (which is Ranbir’s lucky number). Alia is known for her minimal, no-fuss style sense, and staying true to that, the actress opted to go for a natural, dewy makeup with a nude lipstick and red bindi to top it all off. Not sealing her hair into a perfect bridal bun, Alia went ahead with a breezy open hair look, and it really looks great on her. With her favourite make-up artist Puneet B Saini, and stylist Ami Patel by her side, Alia Bhatt’s saree was draped by famous saree and dupatta draper–Dolly Jain.

Alia always has an eye for details, and her wedding saree explains it. As posted by an instagram handle, Alia’s wedding outfit also had the wedding date–April 14, 2022, embroidered with ivory thread on it (how beautiful).

Talking about the dulha, Ranbir too wore designer Sabyasachi’s creations for his big day. Ranbir matched his lady love in an embroidered silk sherwani, adorned with diamond buttons. He further teamed the sherwani with a matching ivory silk organza saafa, headlined by emerald encrusted kalghi and a zari marori embroidery shawl. Accessorising the look, Ranbir also wore a diamond stud earring and a multi-strand pearl neckpiece.

Surprisingly enough, Alia’s choice of a saree silhouette was indeed a refreshing take on wedding wear, plus the colour, deserves full marks. Although, Ranbir could do better, we think his smile is enough (broke my heart, but its okay). The official pictures as posted by Alia Bhatt featured the two performing wedding rituals and flashing their brightest smiles on the special day. The colour theme as opted by the lovebirds, reminded us of Varun Dhawan and wife Natasha Dalal’s wedding outfits. And all we wanna say is ‘Jug, jug jeeyo guys!’
